WWI Trench Wristwatch & Shrapnel Guard

Original WWI trench wrist watch.   Shrapnel guard is brass, most of the original nickel finish has worn off.  Original leather band is still supple.  Has some crazing in the finish, but is fully intact.  Watch is a Leonard.  Has glow in the dark letters and hands as well as a second hand display.  Watch is not running; stem is loose.  Watch is from the estate of Paul Voegele of Danbury, CT and served with the 30th Ordnance Construction Co. in France from May 26, 1918 to April 19, 1919.  His serial number was 1868708.
